Continuing my look back at 2018’s weddings, brings us into the summer and Fay and Owen’s country house wedding in the the beautiful setting of the Owlpen Manor estate in the Cotswolds. Located near the village of Uley in Gloucestershire, the estate provides a truly stunning setting for a wedding. Centered around a Tudor manor house, the estate has beautifully landscaped gardens, with holiday cottages for guests and its own licensed wedding venues. The estate even has its own church so can host both religious and civil services.
Fay and Owen’s ceremony took place in Owlpen’s Cyder Barn. The historic structure of the room and it’s cider press were complimented on on the day by stunning floral arrangements provided by the family. Afterwards, the guests headed out, after thoroughly covering the newlyweds in confetti, for drinks, games and canapés in the grounds, which also provided an absolutely perfect setting for romantic photos of the happy couple.
After a marquee reception, it was on to a ceilidh in the Cyder Barn. The band did a brilliant job of getting everyone up and dancing and it was a great way to do a first dance that also got the rest of the guests up and dancing nice and early.
This wedding was really a joy to photograph. Really, with a venue like this and a couple who were having such a good time life is easy, even if by the end of the day it felt as though I had run a marathon, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t wait to head out this way again to shoot another.
